Clarkson, Ky. (April 29, 2021) – Kentucky State Police Post 4 troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision early Thursday morning in Clarkson. On April 29, 2021 at approximately 6:50 A.M. CDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from Grayson County E-911 requesting assistance in investigating a two-vehicle injury collision near the 500 block of W. Main Street (US-62) in Clarkson.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Chase Michaels, age 49 of Falls of Rough, was traveling east on W. Main street in a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. For unknown reasons, Michaels’ vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck; driven by Michael Lindsey, age 57 of Leitchfield.
Lindsey was transported by ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital for life threatening injuries. Michaels and a passenger, Sherry Clark, age 43, were treated for minor injuries at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. The affected portion of W. Main Street was closed for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Clarkson Police Department, Grayson County EMS, and the Clarkson Fire Department. The collision is still under investigation by reconstructionist Detective Bryan Washer.
