RADCLIFF, Ky. (May 9, 2023) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to a two-vehicle collision in Hardin Co. Tuesday morning that resulted in a fatality.
On May 9, at approximately 7:15 A.M. EDT, KSP Post 4 received a call in reference to a two-vehicle collision near the 5 mile-marker on the Joe Prather Hwy.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Marvin Mayen, 19, of Bardstown, was operating a 2006 Ford F-150 westbound on the Joe Prather Hwy when for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and into the path of a 2013 KIA Optima being operated by Christopher Doss, 28, of Elizabethtown.
Doss was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner’s Office. Mayen was taken by Hardin Co. EMS to University of Louisville Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The affected portion of Joe Prather Hwy was closed for several hours in order to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Hardin Co. EMS and the Hardin Co. Coroner’s Office. The collision remains under investigation by reconstructionist Tpr. Jesse Harp.
