Elizabethtown, KY. (August 26, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury collision on Interstate 65 near the 102-mile marker on Wednesday around 5:08 p.m. ET.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2014 Freightliner Semi Truck/Trailer being operated by 47 year-old David Amezcua of San Antonio, TX, was traveling north on Interstate 65 when for an unknown reason ran off the inside shoulder of the Interstate striking the guardrail end. The vehicle traveled on top of the barrier wall before overturning spilling the cargo into the southbound lanes of travel.
Amezcua was wearing his seat belt was transported to the Hardin Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Hardin County EMS.
Sr. Officer Mike Moritz investigated the collision, and assisted by other members of Kentucky State Police, Lebanon Junction Police, Central Hardin Fire and Kentucky Department of Transportation.
