Bedford, KY. (February 24, 20201) – On Wednesday February 24, 2021 at 6:58 a.m. Kentucky State Police dispatch was notified by The Trimble County Sheriffs Office of a Burglary at Brays Market in Bedford, Kentucky. Dispatch was advised by the Trimble County Sheriffs Office that an employee of the business was following the suspect’s vehicle and that the suspect had fired shots at the employee from inside the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was traveling on US 421 near the Trimble County Henry County line. Troopers located the vehicle and followed it onto Interstate 71 heading south.
At the 32 mile marker, on Interstate 71, a trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect did not stop and began to flee. During the course of the pursuit a tire deflation device was successfully utilized, however the vehicle continued to flee. The vehicle ultimately became immobile near the 14 mile marker after a successful legal intervention was utilized.
The operator of the vehicle, Robert Dyson of Louisville Kentucky, and the passenger Norman Wolfe of New Albany Indiana, were both transported to the University of Louisville Hospital. Both are in custody.
Robert Dyson has been charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Speeding 15 MPH Over Limit, Reckless Driving, Improper Passing, Failure to Wear Seat Belts, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer, Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Require Insurance and Criminal Mischief. Norman Wolfe has been charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree as well as Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Kentucky State Police. The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Trimble County Sheriffs Office, the Oldham County Police Department, and the Oldham County EMS.
