Butler, KY. (March 10, 2021) – On Monday March 8th at 2:50 pm, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 6 was notified of a domestic violence incident occurring on Eastside Park Dr. in Butler, KY (Pendleton County). It was reported that an individual inside the residence, which was in close proximity to Northern Elementary School, was in possession of a firearm and had threatened other individuals inside the residence.
KSP units arrived and worked to secure the scene, as well as ensuring the school was safely evacuated. Following the issuance of a search warrant, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team was activated and responded to the scene. At approximately 1:26 am on Tuesday March 9th the subject, Mark Sanders, (Chicago, IL) was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident. It was discovered that Sanders had active warrants for his arrest at the time of this incident.
Sanders is charged with Wanton Endangerment, 1st degree, and lodged at the Campbell County Detention Center. No officers or citizens were injured during this incident. KSP Post 6 was assisted at the scene by the KSP Special Response Team, Pendleton County Sheriff’s Department, Butler Police Department, Erlanger Police Department K9 Unit, and Pendleton County EMS. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
