Shannon Weddington was charged with Murder

Sandy Hook, Ky.(January 28, 2019)  The Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead received a call for assistance of a stabbing which occurred at approximately 2:49 a.m. in Elliott County.  After further investigation, it was determined that Adam Kelly, 32 years of age, from Melbourne, Florida, had been in an altercation with Shannon Weddington, 40 years of age, from Sandy Hook, KY.  Mr. Kelly was stabbed by Mr. Weddington causing life threatening injuries.  Adam Kelly was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia where he was later pronounced deceased.  Shannon Weddington was charged with Murder.  Mr. Weddington has been lodged in the Rowan County Jail.  Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Elliott County Sheriff’s Department and Elliott County EMS.  This incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
