FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (September 14, 2023) – On Monday, September 11, 2023, at approximately 7:30 PM, Trooper Patrick Carlisle advised Kentucky State Police (KSP), Morehead that he had been involved in an injury accident on KY 32 in Fleming County. Through the investigation, it was determined that Trooper Carlisle was parked on the south bound shoulder of KY 32 for speed enforcement in his 2023 Dodge Charger police cruiser. Jeffrey Lyon was operating a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup traveling south on KY 32 when Trooper Carlisle observed a vehicle traveling north on KY 32 going in excess of the posted speed limit. As Trooper Carlisle entered the southbound lane, his vehicle was struck by Mr. Lyon. Mr. Lyon attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so. Trooper Carlisle and Jeffrey Lyon were transported to St Claire Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. KSP was assisted by Fleming County Sheriff’s Department, Fleming County EMS, and Fleming County Fire and Rescue. This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Morehead.
